Hi guys (and girls)

I've got a pretty large deck to hang off my house 1/2 m off the ground at one end, running to 1/2ft at the other.

OK so the span is 9130 mm (attached to the house) x 3600 mm moving away from the house.

I'm looking at beam spans and need a little guidance please.

I have around 45mm x 145 mm treated and pressure tested beams. Looking at the span info I've found I believe I will need to support these no less than every 8ft.
I plan to use a supporting beam of 2 x the 45mm x 145 mm beams bolted together, 6ft away from the house across the span so that the max unsupported length of the beams is approx 6ft.

Hopefully that makes sense, can anyone please advise if you think this is an approach that will work for such a larger area.

Regards

Ash
