help with pop up sink plug

I have a small sink with pop up plug.
The water is not staying in the sink at all. I have changed the rubber o ring and adjusted the but but it is still seeping away albe slower.
Anything else i can do to stop is seeping away and staying in the sink?
Would i be quicker to buy a new plug? Is it possible and where can i get one?
 
It might be leaking down round the outside of the waste outer. It would still go down the inside of the waste pipe. Test by shoving in putty or blutack ...
