help with three way switch

can you use an exisiting switch to power a three way new circuit two switches and light

Not sure about the usa but i don't think you would have a neutral in the existing switch, so it would be a no-no.

It will depend upon the wiring method used for the original switch. Loop-in is by far the dominant method in the U.K., but in the U.S. it's also common to take the feed directly to the switch and then on to the light, since the same circuit may also be feeding nearby wall receptacles.

You'll need to remove the cover plate of the switch and see what wiring is in the box to determine if it will be possible or not.
