HI, Ive got a worcester 24i....had it for about 5yrs.....ive always had a problem that has got worse recently.....the hot water doesnt always come through and I have to turn the tap on and off several times b4 it will come through warm. Again, the heating wont always come on and I have to make sure ive warm water coming through before putting the heating on.....this means often that the heating wont be on in the morning when its set to come on although it sounds like the boiler is working, if I try to get warm water I have to turn the heating off (even though the rads are cold) and then start running the tap til warm comes through and put the heating back on a which point the rads heat up.

Can someone please tell what it is? is it air in the system? is it a part fault on th boiler?

help appreciated greatly as the missus is starting to nag! and im fed up off telling her to turn the taps on and off etc.

24i does not have a diverter valve but it does have a flow switch but that would not acount for the lack of CH .The week links on a 24 are the air pressure switch and the pcb, if you have one of the original dark brown air pressure switches replace it with the new white Huba switch, wireing diagram include with it.

cheers....doesnt mean much to me as im no DIY/plumbing expert but it gives me a little bit of knowledge so I can try and sort it out.....thanks.

I take it its nothing to do with air in the system then?

what kind costs are involved for the solution given bearing in mind I wont be doing it myself!

Air pressure switch is around £17 but have the min gas pressure tested it can drift low on min gas the (when ch first on) it should be about the size of a low cig lighter if its very small and takes more than 6 second to light then it prob reqires seting.Worcester caharge £175.44 to fix with 3 major parts inc plus minor parts if thats any help, you prob wount get it cheaper if you need a new pcb plus they will give it a full service if you request it when booking the call.
