help!!!

hi I am in the process of creating a "man cave" and I'm kinda stuck with an idea. I have a computer desk and I have engraved the batman symbol into the top of it. I would like to somehow cut the symbol out but leave a layer so I can line it with LED lights hen put the symbol back on the top so it shines out from the sides. Any help would be great Thanks.

Not too sure what you are doing, but maybe router out a wider grove from under the worktop to the engraved symbol and fit lights underneath then put perspex over the top?

Otherwise lay plate glass on top and light from the edges.
