I have a knackered old power shower that I've replaced with a nice new Triton one.

The problem I have is the hot and cold pipes currently come in pointing downwards from the top and upwards from the bottom wheras the new machine I have needs them both side by side either pointing upwards or downwards.

I guess I need to pull off some tiles, knock through and do a bit of pipework. Does this sound fairly simple? Does it sound correct!?

I guess you do

No it sounds difficult but I can't see the job from here. Did you not try to get one with similar connections to the old one or did you just buy the cheapest that would do the job and not account for the hassle you would have of fitting it?
Does it sound correct!?
Well yes it does sound correct, but whether it is correct depends somewhat on following the instructions and making sure you have the pipes connected properly
