Hi

I have just been reading about these traps and was hoping that someone could confirm a few question I have.

At present our stack continues up to the top of the house just above the flat roof. this is OK but we have access to the roof and don't really like the stack venting (at all)

The Hep Vo traps seem to imply that I can "cap off" the stack and these will do the venting for me via the bath sink and shower.

Am I getting this right?
As we are now installing a new bathroom can I add these traps and forgo the venting stack?
If I can cap off how high above the sink hight do I have to keep the stack?
I presume that by capping the stack off I should still make it accessible if its needed to be rodded at some future time.

Thanks in advance
Andy

Sorry ,you`re getting it very wrong  Unusual to have a flat roof house .......is it Art Deco?.....must have a vent and it should be 900mm above window within 4? meters

OK its not all flat roofed, its a 60's, 70's extension added to the main house and not build to any building regs that exsist now.

Thats the reason for the problem I suppose and it is being rectified slowly to comply with regs!
Its a pity though this cannot be done as it would be a nice solution!

Thanks for the help

Yes.

Yes. If the hosue is an end of line then no. Every 5th house requires a vent. If the 5th then hard luck.

thanks for the reply water and the link. I had read all the information on the Hep website but did not know of this document... most helpful

It appears that if I use two or more in the upper bathroom I can cap off the stack!

Again thanks

Not quite that simple, if you read exactly what it says. I would suggest checking with Building Control first.
