Yes...you can get 90 degree adapters so they lay paralell with the floor.

Just remember one thing.

They work by blocking the flow path to the drain, hairs etc will snag, blocked pipes can be costly when you have take the ceiling down or dig the floor up.

Don't know how easy it would be for stuff to collect on the flaps as they are pretty slick. A bucket of hot water would dislodge any stuck hair. When I used the hepvo on a shower, I used a running adaptor and put the valve where I could get easy access to it.
