here's one for you

if you have 3 lights, 1 red, 1 green, 1 blue its commonly known as rgb lighting, with this combination you can make almost any colour you like (have a really close look at your tv screen, unless its plasma, or lcd)

now my questions are these.

why is it called rgb lighting, and not bgr lighting, since that is the letters in alphabetical order

if you get 3 coloured filters one of each of the 3 colours (coloured "toffee paper" will do if you want to try it) if you put them down one on top of the other in no particualr order it is black. why?

Just a thought - rgb is the order in which these colours appear in the colour spectrum?

breezer, if you get all 3 colours and shine them at the same spot they appear white - i cant remember the reason right now. This is how a TV shows white - fires at all 3 colours.

Same as the filter thing. You have 3 filters: r, g, b, and a white light.

Red blocks everything but red. only red light gets to the green filter.

green blocks everything but green. but there is no green there to let thru, due to the red filter, so it lets no light thru.

You only need 2 filters for this, but no filter is perfect so some light is let thru anyway. Thats the theory.
