I have an old baxi boiler system n in January had to have the "pipe coupler/diverter"to the upstairs pump replaced. I had also replaced an old Honeywell thermostat with separate water/ch on/off switches for a new bog standard thermostat in that same week. Since then my boiler seems to ignore the room thermostat n only switches off when the boiler thermostat reaches its temp. I wondering if I have caused the problem or the engineer replacing the diverter has done something? I'm thinkin maybe it's something upstairss cos the eater doesn't seem to switch off til the boiler temp is met n is dangerously hot.... Any ideas anyone please

Why do you say "n" instead of "and"?

And "til" instead of "until"?

We like to see words properly written because it makes it so much easier to read.

We give our time free to try to help people with their heating problems so like to have an easy read!

However thanks for not patronising me on my description of the pipe coupler/diverter as I did not know the correct technical term for that item!

I had not got as far as trying to work out what that was.

But putting the boiler model would enable us the better understand your system!

Really?!

Thanks for your input dan. If its so simple then I would appreciate a simple explanation if you didn't mind rather than sarcasm....

I'm a lift engineer and ii wouldn't expect you to be able to get out of a lift if you were stuck and I certainly wouldn't turn up with a sarcastic comment then leave....

What boiler thermostat are you referring to?
What 'eater' is getting hot? Are you referring to a radiator?
Do you have a hot water cylinder? Is this where the thermostat is?
A thermostat controlling both water and heating sounds like a timer. Do you mean this?
Until, till and 'til and all correct uses.
We like pictures.

I 8 avin 2 read dis stuff rite!
A simple pause before typing and press of the spell checker can transform it into something we were taught at school. :)

Well I changed a radiator in a classroom when they were having a lesson so that must count? :D
