It is very nice, and you seem to have used some ELV downlights - the colour rendering gives it away.

I would have lost the DVD player / amp etc in the cupboard to the left, and had the TV central to the wall if it was me - But thats all personal taste.

is that fire a fake one? not gas I take it? if it is gas, where the heck does the flue go? and what is that thing on the left side of the breast...? did you build those bulkheads just to house the downlighters or do they hide aomething more sinister? were they just an artsy touch?

I poped in to b&q today for a new spirit level...on my way out I walked by a load of contempory looking gas fires, these were advertsied as fluless no chimney required, it could be one of those types.

surely that's just not possible.. those combustion gasses have to go somewhere..

I take it back, just saw them on the B&Q website.. look nice..
how do the manage that when fires consume oxygen and create toxic gasses?

Theres some kind of cataylst to convert them into something harmless I beleive, some of the guys over on the plumbing forum don't like them, because, if memory serves, there have been inncidents involving ones that have been incorrectly set up WRT gas pressures, etc, where the process has failed to work as it should . Apparently they started comming in in this country when some en harmonised standards were adopted and are still a relativly new thing in this country. Not sure what warnings are with them in B&Q etc, but I hope no one is lead into beliveing "no flue...that must be easy and safe to DIY then..."

Thats my understanding anyway, someone from the other forum will probably come along and correct it all now

If that`s a real fire under the TV then the manufactures advise agains it apparently.
