Hey all,

May seem a bit of silly question however I'm new to the renting side of things and house I'm renting has a hi spec j32 heating system.

It has a pilot burner and a main burner.

I'm assuming main burner is to do with the central heating, would it be ideal to have this part turned off in the summer. The house like a sauna yet it's set at 10degrees on thermostat and it's set to off on air heating.

Any advice would be great cheers.

turn the pilot light off if you want but doubt that is causing any heat, your unit has a summer switch if you want just air moved through that isnt heated but is very dated

Ian, thanks for the reply, I have tried the summer switch but seems like a waste of time not much air comes through, but may give it a shot again.

Aye its not great Im afraid, shut the pilot off if you want, wont do any harm , but wont make a lot of difference either, just means you will have to re-light it when you need heating again, modern ones have Air con built in and are a lot better but still not great
