I have a cast iron fireplace. I've taken all the flakey paint off with paint stripper back to the bare metal.
I want to paint it a black colour and I'd guess it would be best to spray it with hi-temperature stove paint in the unlikely event that it was ever used in the future.
Should I use some form of paint primer before spraying it, and should this be a hi-temperature primer paint?
Thanks.
