Hidden plasterboard in bathroom

I am redecorating my bathroom and have a freshly built stud wall. The wall is made from timber frame with plasterboard on top. On this wall, I plan to have my bathroom furniture (cupboards with sink and WC). Above this I will tile the wall - as I've heard that tiles can go directly onto plasterboard.
What should i do to the bottom part of the plasterboard (i.e. that is behind the cupboards). Whilst it will not be visible, I do not want the plasterboard to become saturated from any bathroom moisture. Is there anyway of protecting this i..e using bathroom paint or something?

I think you are worrying over nothing. You should never get to the point where the plasterboard wall behind the cupboards will become saturated with bathroom moisture, just from normal use. As long as you have adequate ventilation and a good extractor fan, that's all you need. With the tiles on the wall, and a good quality silicone along the the bathroom worktop (i presume), nothing should get in behind the cupboards. There is nothing to stop you though, putting on a coat of good quality bathroom paint behind where the cupboards etc will go, just to put your mind at ease. Again, ventilation and a good extractor fan is the key.
