HiFlow 400

Hi All, I have a Worcs HiFlow 400 it's 10years+ old and the Hi Temp trip keeps dropping out when using the shower. I think it may be a flow issue. Also the CH loses pressure but I can't find a leak anywhere? Any ideas please.

could be quite a few things wrong with it. check you'r blow off pipe outside for leaking. check to see what pressure your gauge gets up to on ch. usually just a screw on the expansion vessel. and it should fall towards you with the front control panel pulled out a little. the EV should feel quite light. if it feels heavy then it either needs recharging or is kaput. most i see on these are kaput. better still get a worcester fixed price repair. these can be a pita to work on.

Thanks for that, I will check later. I have been told that there is a filter in the incoming that could be blocked or the Heat Exchanger is furred up. What is your experience of this? Also I changed the CH pump 1 year ago.

DHW tripping is often the filter or DHW heatex blocked.

Checking the filter is not too difficult but a pain depending on access. If its the heatex then it's a costly business.

Worcester may be your best option.

Your best bet would be to get Worcester out. The manifolds inside these boilers are a real pig and leaks spring up everywhere when you work on them.

The newer versions are much better thankfully.

Hi All, I went outside this morning and water is coming out of the blowoff pipe. Is this why the CH loses pressure?

Yes, you will need a new expansion vessel - and probably a new pressure relief valve, as the old one will be disinclined to reseal unless you are v.lucky.

It may be the expansion vessel has failed or lost its charge. Check that first
