We have decking abt 2ft high to level with garden door. Tired of wooden frame collapsing in few places, so wonder if anyone has built a brick parallel wall and put perpendicular joist and lay decking on top. Is that recommended?

you can also use concrete spurs instead of wooden legs, and bolt your frame to them (they have bolt holes). Wood in contact with the ground has a short life.

decking does not have any significant sideways load (unlike a fence) so they don't need much concrete round them.

the concrete can be painted dark brown to blend in.

much less work than building a brick wall, and simpler to demolish if you change your mind.
