My sons just dropped his 42" lcd Hitatchi tv and broken the screen , its just 12 months old. is it scrap now ?

Ebay for the cost of a replacement screen..... But the cost will be 1/2~2/3rd that of a new TV. The screen is the single largest and most expensive component.
You might be better off stripping the existing TV for spares. The power supply, the X and the Y sustain boards, the inverter and a few other bits including the remote all have value. Then put that towards buying a new TV in the sales.

thanks for your replies . Probably sell as is on ebay . hes bought a new identical for £279 from argos . Insurance has a 100 excess and i have a 30% discount so not worth claiming, Thanks for your repliesdo you have house contents insurance
Ah, if it's identical, keep it for spares.
