Hive Thermostat Wiring Assistance

Here you go:

This is for controlling the heating and hot water via the hive. With your current setup, your thermostat calls for heat but the hot water timings will be done via your programmer. If you want to have that control via the hive, it's going to be a little bit more complicated and we'll need the wiring of the programmer as well.

Ok, what I would do is replace your programmer with the hive receiver. It needs to be a dual channel receiver which from the screwfix picture looks like it is.

Wiring as follows :
Red - Live
Blue - Neutral
Green yellow - Earth
Orange - 1
Yellow - 3
White - 4

Then inside your wiring centre, disconnect the room stat cable and remove. Link the white core from the programmer terminal with the bottom terminal of the room stat (currently with the yellow core terminated)

So just to confirm:

All 4 wires out of ROOM STAT. Move white wire (third along) from PROGRAMMER, and put into where the yellow wire was in ROOM STAT (fourth wire down).

Is that correct?

Personally I would place a link between 1 and 3 in the wiring center after swapping the Hive and programmer

Okay - when you say add a link wire between 1 and 3 on the room stat, I remove all the wires and put a wire link between screw number 1 on the left and screw 3?

No, the ROOM STAT terminal in the wiring centre. Top and bottom screws

That would be to bypass the room stat entirely, he wants to use the hive as his new stat.

The hive is wireless so he needs to link the old thermostat wires.
