Ive had Hive heat with standard TRV's for a while now .
My son has changed jobs and now gets up around 5am so Hive heating schedule heat goes on at 4.30am for 30 mins then goes off until we get up around 7am.
The problem for me is , im waking up in bed boiling hot , I dont mind heating the house at 4.30am i just dont want to heat my bedroom that early .
If i buy a Hive TRV for my bedroom can i have it on a timer where it wont come on 4.30am but follow the normal heating schedule all other times.

thanks

Most electronic TRV heads will do that. I use eQ-3 as in 2019 they were only £15 each, there is also the Terrier i30 both are stand-alone units.

Most that connect to the internet need a hub, I have Energenie, Kasa, and Wiser. The first two will not fire the boiler, the Wiser will. The first two would if I had their wall thermostat. But I don't.

Since you already have Hive, then Hive TRV heads would seem to make sense.

With a radiator on an internal wall, the linked TRV head works well, but on an external wall, the wall can be colder than the room, so it can turn the heating on too soon when linked.

Not used Hive, but with Wiser there is no real need for wall thermostats.
