Hi all
I want to change a gas hob to electric. The Main oven isolator switch is above a nearby worktop so I 'd like to run a 6mm cable up from this along the top of the wall in the permitted zone and then down by the hob to a connection unit behind a base uinit. The wire will go vertically down to this box so I guess be within the permitted zone but as the box will be out of sight does this still comply? (obviously no one will guess the cable is there)

Just change the oven outlet (if u have one) to a dual outlet.

Run the flex for the hob a short ? Distance to the outlet.(behind the cabs on the floor)

More sensible and compliment.

Or is it not near the oven?

Sorry should have said, unfortunately its on a different worktop/wall with a gap between them (although with 2m)

Thanks for the responses. I hope this image makes it clearer.

That is permitted if the cable is within 150mm of the ceiling.

However is there really a massive empty space between those two cabinets? Surely easier to just put the cable at floor level behind the units?

Yes, around the bottom is probably better thinking about it. thanks. Can I run a cable up to the hood from the hob connection box?
