When I start my oil burner, black smoke comes out the back of the boiler but not out of the flue. The smoke comes out of the lower rear part away from where the flue is connected but it's about an inch from the wall so I can't see exactly where it's coming from. Could corrosion have caused a hole ? Could the flue be blocked?

if you cant see it what chance have we got :? :? :?

Sounds like the flue is blocked and the fumes are coming out from the Draught Diverter.

You should not get any soot at all so sounds very much as if your combustion is out and flue blocked.
