Honeywell C079-2

I have a C079-2 RF portal that doesnt have the metal antennae sticking out from the side of the board that normally points vertically.

I previously had the first gen c079 portal which did have the antennae, but c079-2 didn't.
I have been looking at getting a second RF portal of which one is for sale on ebay.
They have clarified it is definitely the -2 model but it has the metal antennae attached to the PCB.

Can anyone confirm if the c079-2 version does or does not have the antennae attached to the PCB, or can there be 2 versions of the model, one with and without?

There are three versions of C079 currently. The one with the antennae is the oldest version of the three and the one with the Russian frequency option is the newest. They all work the same, but the metal antennae version does seem to give the best reception - not that much difference though. The only one to avoid is the old C077, which was the first RF portal for the G2 only and only works with old sensors.

Make sure they are at the latest firmware - 1.08 for the first portal, 2.10 for the second and 3.00 for the latest.
