Honeywell G2-20 F2 fuse blowing

Hi

I have had a Honeywell G2-20 alarm installed for over 5 years and it has worked without any issues.

During the hot weather, I did have one of the sensors send an incorrect intruder alarm trigger which I just took as a one off event.

Another wired sensor in a different zone then started omitting a tamper fault so I temp set that to a spare zone to enable me to set the alarm.

However, recently the keypads display went blank and I realised the F2 (Aux) fuse had blown so I replaced it.

Then a day later the F2 fuse blew again.

The alarm has had a surge protector kit which was installed the same time as the alarm.

Any ideas what could be causing this?

If the fuse F2 only supplies the keypad then that would suggest it is faulty.
Don't know anything about your other events

Something is chewing the cables ? Mice / squirrels…. Would be my guess

without looking at the G2-20 manual for the layout, and where you have things wired to.

to blow a fuse it has to be shorted, every time its shorted the fuse will blow.

now cables can get damaged in several ways.

Vermin, tradespeople doing work, people walking over cables because they aren't properly protected, ie laid a cross a floor and people walk over the cable.....

repeated intermittent blowing of a fuse suggests the cable isn't always shorted at the minute.
repeated blowing of a fuse suggests the cable is always shorted at the minute, ie new fuse blows instantly.
Fuse no longer blowing after being replaced but power not getting to a device, suggest cable is severed.....

Thing is vermin you can hear moving around, do you know the time the fuse blew on both ocassions?
Might give you an idea when you might be able to see or hear them better.

check food storage and look for droppings, if you know the route of your cables, you might be able to trace things back. You maybe able to test the cable, to get an idea where the break/short is occurring.
