Hi,
I'm getting "Alert-Batt low" message when arming system (partial, code+A+zones, haven't tried full) and system doesn't arm. It's otherwise perfectly working system with no issues, have used it for years. I suppose (after reading installer manual), that this means the rechargeable backup battery in central unit is dead, not the coin battery used for RTC and non-volatile memory? Backup battery is about three years old, not stellar life time for battery, but those are reasonably priced.

is the green light flashing on the keypad? if it is then the battery needs changing.
the batteries now days are so hit or miss you could have one that last for years and years and others that go down after 18 months.
if you have a multimeter check you have 13.8 volts on the battery terminals before putting the new battery on, this will prove its charging. the battery you need is 12volts 7ah. i think tool station do them.
