Honeywell Galaxy Flex 50 - PSTN Connection

Hiya,

The on-board PSTN connection on the galaxy flex - can that be used to make calls to my mobile to inform me of an intruder?

Apparently, the on-board PSTN line is for call centres and will not work to make private calls ... is that correct?
