Hi, yes the module needs to be connected to the RS485 bus and to power. So, A goes to A and B to B. Then 0V and +12 V. The E080 module will be able to report events to SelfMon, but will not work with any apps. When you connect, the module should have a red flashing LED and the network LED's should light when connected to your LAN. The red led should give a slow on/off flash when not enumerated on the bus and a quick flash when enumerated. To add the module to the bus, wire it in, then enter and exit engineering mode to start the enumeration.
