Hi all

After a rather loud bang, my Honeywell programmer has gone blank. Also the boiler will not work.

Any ideas on where the fault might lie? I assume it must be a fuse. But wouldn't know the first place to start.

The water tank is also connected, but the immersion switch will sort the water.

Many thanks

Hi most likely to be a leak going into the electrics, you need to look for leaks first before replacing any fuses.
You should have a fused spur close to the boiler position which controls all the electrics to your heating system that sould have a 3amp fuse in it like you have in plugs but not 13amp, there is probably nothing wrong with your programmer itself unless that's where the water has gone.

The programmer will have gone blank due to lack of power. Now the most likely cause is the fuse that will be located by the boiler in the switched spur. However it is unlikely that it was caused by the leak. More likely caused by a power surge, short circuit, or faulty control (which could include the programmer). Replace the 3 amp fuse (WITH ANOTHER 3 AMP!!!) and restart. if it blows again call an RGI to diagnose.

Yeah faulty control but surely you dont look for faults by just replacing the fuse do you?

Thank you

I will look at it when I get home. I assume I can switch off the spur at the main fuse box? Just so I do not cause an accident.

Thank you again for the advice really appreciated.
