Hooking up a cold rad to 80C water

Domestic boilers used to do this but they don't make them any more because they are inefficient.... It is not efficient to heat water to this temperature....

even I cant believe that someone has never done this

They have. It's about the most primitive control system you can get.

They don't do it now because it's rubbish, only slightly more advanced than an open fire in the middle of the hut with a hole in the roof.

Someone (maybe on Dragons' Den) said they get loads of enthusiastic young entrepreneurs, who insist that there is a gap in the market that their idea will fill. They answer that, there may be a gap in the market, but is there a market in the gap? Usually there are good reasons no-one targets that gap, but the youngster can't see what they are.

PS I think there's something else going on. Is the OP's name an anagram or something?

I have absolutely no idea what the market wants. if you look at the speed limits in or anywhere. there is absolutely no need to buy a car that runs at 330kmph but still people buy them. even if they have never used them upto that limit and companies still manufacture them.
someone told me that that if people are not willing to buy something, we need to create a need in them.
My Name is Sukhjeet Grewal. im from India...
Im a mechanical engineering student currently on my placement
I work in a boiler manufacturing company..
I am trying to find out the repercussions of doing something like that

But a slug of cold return water and a 50 deg temperature difference across the boiler would do it no good at all. Ask your boss.

How many times do you have to be told. ....

NO!

But it is a stupid idea.

Jesus my head hurts.

Well that exactly what i came here to know.

Sorry i have to keep it a secret as the thing that im working on is not a gas boiler.

just because you guys were asking too many unnecessary questions i had to assume it was a boiler.

come on, sukhjeetgrewal

Answer please

How do you intend to heat the water that you intend to pump round the radiators, and how long do you think it will take for your thermal store to become hot?

Answer please.

We are working on an equipment that will replace boilers.
Because its classified information i cant discuss.
but we are having issues as the water that we are storing is really hot.
so we are wondering if its wise to let that hot water go straight in system or shall we put a heatexchanger in the middle

my goal is to get rid of (or shorten the ramp up time)
i'll deal with the 50 degree temperature difference later.

cheers
