Hi hoping someone can help me. I've got a hoover softwave 1100 washer dryer which is not heating up the water or giving heat to the dryer.

I've put a continuity test across the element which is showing a reading of close on zero (I'm assuming this is just showing residual resistance from the element itself rather than a break in the element).

I've taken both of the bottom thermostats out next to the element and tested them and they are both working.

I'm at a bit of a loss now as to what else it could be. I don't want to throw it as I replaced the bearing a couple of months ago and I'd like to get a bot more use out of it.

Any advice really gratefully received.

element should read about 30 ohms .

wow that's a speedy response!
I've just checked element and its reading 29 ohms. Is that alright or would that mean that its bust?
Thanks

heater is ok 29 is good ,did you disconnect the 2 stats from the wiring to test with a continuity tester it should bleep if it does its ok .is there a red reset switch on top of the heater box .

I took the two stats out and tested them with the ends in boiling water. 1 showed continuity before going in boiling water but not when in it , the other didn't show continuity before going in but did when in. As they are both reacting to heat I assume they are both working.

Where do I find the heater box to see if there is a reset swith?
Cheers
