Hoover WDXC washer dryer not drying.

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone might have any advice on one of these, please? When either the "low" or "high" temperature drying programme is selected, the clothes don't dry. I've taken the lid off and there is no power to the heating element. The element itself has a resistance, about 40 Ohms. There's also a round thing, that looks like a thermocouple, which has a resistance that varies with temperature.

Does anyone have any thoughts as to why there's no power to the heating element, please?

Thanks. It does look identical to mine, but the connectors to the element are in good condition.
