Hi
Could anybody give me some advice on plastering over horse hair-straw lime plaster. The plaster itself is pretty solid but with quite a few lumps and bumps hollows ect I would of thought seal-glue tight coat of bonding then multi finish?

Any advice would be great cheers

personally i would just pva wall twice, scrim any cracks and use a thick first coat and normal 2nd coat of either finish or multi-finish

I would pva, and tight coat the wall with bonding, and then bring out some of the hollows with a thicker coat of bonding in those areas as required, and then 2 coats of multi overall. As long as the old plaster underneath is sound, that's the main thing..... You'll never get any bumpy wall/surface,, perfect with just a thin coat of plaster, and always tell the customer that, but as long as it looks good to the eye that's the main thing.
