Sorry for asking a stupid question as the answer seems straight forward but just want some experienced advice.

I am fitting a new shower, which has a mixer. The instructions say the hot water pipe attaches to the left side of the mixer (Hot water is normally on the left hand side) which is marked with a hot water symbol. However there is no hot water symbol and the Thermostatic control knob is on the right hand side, would this not suggest the hot water should go on the right hand side?

Is it normal for the thermatatic control knob to be on the opposite side of the hot water feed?

Thank you for help/advice in advance.

We have a thermostatic mixer on the bath and the thermostatic control is on the right - hot water comes in on the left pipe as usual

Yes, it's normal. It all depends on how the internals of the valve are made. It usually seems to be on/off on the left, temperature on the right though.
