Hi Guys,

Am I correct in thinking that with a Combi-boiler the hot and cold pressures / flow should be pretty much the same? Thus when considering shower choices a mixer shower would be the best type?

I have on more than one occassion seen combi boilers where the cold flow/pressure is much higher than the hot.

Have I got the completely wrong or could there be an explanation/problem with the boiler.

Sorry, but dont have the boiler make/model to hand.

Cheers

Aslong as both your cold taps are all mains fed then the pressures are equal.

What you may be referring too is sometimes the cold is left off the big tank in the loft.

Get a thermostatic shower as opposesed to just a mixer

No cold water store in loft, only F&E to feed the CH.

By the high pressure of the cold it would appear to be from mains feed. The hot pressure is much lower, why would this be?

The pressure is the same. It just doesnt look so because of a slower flow rate.

What boiler is it? It may incorporate a flow restrictor in the event of too high flow rate, check the boiler service valve underneath is fully open.

Why have you got an F+E feedin your combi boiler?

Thanks for the advice.

Its my Brothers house, just moved in, a bit of a strange setup really, has an old system boiler running the CH system, hence F&E tank, then a boiler running the hot water. Just dawned on me, its not a combi-boiler is it
