Hi
I've just taken out my old bath and the hot water supply is 15mm but whoever fitted this in has put in a section of 22mm pipe for about 6" just before the tap.
What's this all about - some kind of expansion thing - do I need to fit the same?
I was thinking of using flexible tap connectors which are about 10mm bore I think.
OhGranny

bath taps have 22mm tails on them

so the last bloke increased the bore of the pipe so he could attach them onto the taps

its the way it is done

Oops sorry forgot to say whoever fitted them has then put a reducer on so the pipe goes back to 15mm - wierd??

Yes but only on the hot supply to the bath the cold is straight 15mm
Would it be to try to increase the flow to the bath?

dont really matter what its doing..

if its gonna run off a combi then flexible tap connectors are ok on both...if its gravity hot then ur best to run the hot in 22 all the way

Thanks
Jamie - off for a pint - old lath and plaster - what on earth did they make that s**t out of.
