Hot water in shower slowly reduced to trickle.. help please!

that hot supply to the shower.
it looks to me that it tees off horizontal into the gate valve and to the shower is that right ?

no good when the shower is running it will allow air released from the cylinder to be pulled in to the shower pipe and get trapped.
so restricting flow or stopping it.

id fit a surrey flange.
