We got a halstead combi fitted 18 months ago. When the heating is on everything is fine but when i put the hot water on and run the shower or tap the water comes out very slow and the combi goes into lockout. There is a lot of noise from the boiler gurgles and stuff like that. So i HAVE TO REBOOT the BOILER ONLY FOR IT TO GO INTO LOCK OUT again . The water runs hot for 10 secs then cold for 30 secs then back to hot. Now I have come home on a night and found that the bolier has vented when its been switched off and the system is empty. aaaarrrggghhhhhh

I have spoke to halstead who say this is because there is debri in the pipes and its not there fault, if they come out they will charge me even though i have it under warranty for 2 years. This runs out in sep and i think they are just waiting for sep to come.....Can anyone help me please...

Presumably you can fill it up ok? WHich boiler is it?

Could you measure the flow rate at the hot tap, in litres/min?
NB Thames and the rest have turned the water pressure down. Is the cold poor too?
If your system IS dirty, eg if the combi was put on an old system which wasn't properly flushed, you'd get get the poor HW performance, but it wouldn't affect the flow.
Are you in a very hard water area?

It still shouldn't boil the water out . Maybe a sensor problem too.

VERY HARD WATER AREA... AND THE COMBI WAS FITTED ON TO AN OLD SYSTEM ,,,, BUT WOULD THIS NOT EFFECT THE HEATING AS WELL AS THE HOT WATER FROM THE TAPS, THE HERATING IS FINE THOUGH..

No!

The system flow inside the boiler is different on hot water delivery. The hot water part gets blocked first.

Presumably you had some cowboy fit the boiler on the cheap for cash?

If not then call back the installer as its his fault for not cleaning the system properly.
