We recently had a new drench shower installed. All was working fine but over the last couple of days there is only a tiny bit of water trickling out.

When the temp control is turned down to cold it works fine, so cold feed is obviously working ok. The problem is we don't want cold showers and when it is at the desired heat we only get a trickle.

There is no problem with the water pressure to the bath.

Is there a quick fix? Or any other tests that can be done. Problem is the builder who installed it and did the other bathroom works failed to turn up on another job we had lined up for him and is not contactable.

would that be an issue with the shower itself or something else? sounds like it isn't an installation error then?

Oh dear....

1. Get him back in to fix it.
2. Get him back in to fix it.

In the meantime, check your DHW inlet filter isn't blocked at the mixer valve.
It could certainly be a failed thermostat too...

If he's still trading, and not on a long holiday, or deceased, he must be contactable. If he refuses to answer the phone etc, you could dial him and withhold your number. See if he answers. Or arrange a for a friend to get a quote for a large non-existent job, and be there when he turns up.

To the OP
You may have decided to give up on the builder by now anyway. If he remains unreachable, and then get another decent plumber in to have a look. Shouldn't cost much to have the filters checked and ensure it's been installed correctly. If the thermostat has failed, it should be under warranty.
Do you have the instructions for your shower?

so, we managed to get hot water into the shower. We had a plumber take a look who took it apart, and put it back. It now has two settings, hot and cold! Anything in between doesnt work!
