Hi there,

I was wondering if you could give me some advice on a boiler problem - I have a feeling the answer may be quite simple, but it's beyond me.
The boiler is an Ariston Combi - sorry I don't have the model number to hand. Basically, when running the hot water, the flames which I assume heat the water pipe only come on intermittently, meaning an alternating flow of hot and cold water. Also, the hot water in the bath upstairs will only reach a good temperature if the waterflow is quite slow.
The central heating works fine though.
Not sure if it's related, but the pressure in the boiler was dropping when we had the heating on a lot over the holidays, which I think means we may have a leak.
I'd really appreciate any advice you can give me,

Cheers,

Chris

the bath flow problem reminds me of an old boiler adage - the slower the flow, the hotter the water.

it rhymes you see, and its true. thats why its clever.
