Hot water supply to a loft conversion

Hi

I'm having my loft converted at the moment and the heating/hot water pipes have just been laid. In the loft will be two en suite shower rooms. Already running in the loft space were the hot water pipes to the bathrooms on the first floor.

The plumber has basically tapped into these preexisting pipes for the first floor to supply the new shower rooms in the loft. (22mm initial pipes then becoming 15mm)

Is this standard practice?

I have a thermal store and system boiler. Hot water is obtained by mains going through a coil in the thermal store and so being heated up by the store of (central heating) hot water in there

So you are keeping the thermal store?

As you are running off mains pressure, you will probably be fine.

22mm is obviously better though.

Hi Dan, no, the thermal store will go and be replaced by an unvented system but not right now. So it needs to all work for the existing system for about 3-6 months.
