Hotpoint 9567 Error 20

Can anyone help with diagnosis of error code 20 showing on the display of a Hotpoint 9567. The error code appears 5 seconds after applying power. If the door is closed the drain pump also runs.

As far as I can remember this is a thermistor problem.
