Hotpoint Aquarius CTD00 tumble drier - drum not turning

HI, I have a problem with my tumble drier in that the drum will not start turning. The heating coils work perfectly when turned on but the drum does not start to turn - if you start to turn it it continues to turn but when the reverse action kicks in it won't start turning again!! It has been thoroughly cleaned of fluff etc. but any extra advice would be greatly appreciated.
