The suppressor on our washing machine has burned out twice now and is in danger of being scrapped. Anyone any idea why this keeps hapening?

Thanks

The second one only lasted a month! It was replaced when the engineer came to replace the motor and noticed that a previous 'engineer' had disconnected the suppressor. Having now fitted the third one he reckons if it goes again that we will just have to get a new machine!!!

Surely there must be some fault somewhere causing the suppressor to burn out?

Only if you have had a power surge which I doubt it.

Did the spade connectors get damaged origionally and if so were they replaced or tightly connected back on the terminals on the supressor.

Poor connections can result in arcing and damage to the supressor and wiring.

All the connections look secure. One of the spade connectors was burnt out but both have been replaced. The main supply to the suppressor also looks secure.

Anything else I could check?

Thanks

Poor quality componant or badly fitted/poor connections is about the only reason they would continually blow/burn out.

Check the connectors on the other end of the wiring loom just in case though.
