hotpoint Aquarius WML520 fault

Hello all,

Hotpoint Aquarius WML520.

It gets stuck on the wash cycle, if you set the machine to do a wash, it will keep washing all night and never stop, same on all wash programmes.

Seems to work fine on rinse and spin cycles.

Is this a programmer fault or possibly a heater fault?

I have heard that if the element is bust, it doesn't heat the water, so the programme doesn't advance and loops forever?

I haven't beable to check if it's heating yet.

Anyone in the know who could point me in the right direction? Ie if this is a common fault.

Very common for a Heater fault. Or filter blocked. Check the heater with a meter.

cool cheers mate, filters been checked apparently.

will check the heater, will just need to weigh up the cost to repair vs replace with a cheap machine.

Heater is 20 quid about 10 mins to fit. Found at the back of the drum remove rear panel.

i will check to see if it is that and try a local spares place in town.
