Hotpoint Dishwasher Solenoid Valve

My son asked for some advice re. the above. He believes that his fault is DIY repairable but it's confusing. The cold fill solenoid valve appears to be under his sink and not integrated in the dishwasher.
It seem like the valve with a cable has a cable resinned in. That cable is the threaded through a independent conduit in the fill pipe.
Does the new valve come with the cable that you have to draw-wire through the fill tube when you pull the old one out?

This may be the aqua stop device that detects leaks from the inner hose and shuts off the supply. The lead is part of it.
