my Hotpoint WD71 has a new fault

the infobubble display say close the door

but i think the circuit board in the facia display is the guilty party.
because

when you close the door it seems to shut ok and hasn't been slammed and has no signs of a breakage

and also when you switch off the thing takes 30 seconds to delease the door

if the door interlock was at fault then the above sentence wouldn't be the case or would it ??????

to check the lock link together the two wires on lock .the two outer ones not the black in the middle thats the netural supply .if the door lock has 99 0r lower printed on the lock its had it .if as you say 30 secs to open it needs replacing.

thanks rocks1

left the black wire N (centre spade) in the lock
the 2 outer wires white (C) & brown (L) crimped together and not attached to anything

the machine still says door open

does this mean the end for the interlock then

the bit i didn't understand was the ' if the door lock has 99 or lower printed on the lock '

you have date code 07 in the corner its been replaced .check the pcb for a burnt track. date codes for the locks when they are made are in the top right hand corner .door locks should be replaced every 4 years due to useage.check door rubber also for a split above the door lock water can get onto the lock and blow pcb .your lock is fine pcb has blown some where.

impressive stuff rocks1

the pcb located in the facia panel was faulty before
hopefully getting a replacement on order tomorrow

Start from the beginning. Why did you change the seal and lock. Was it working before you done this.

hi sir, water was leaking there where holes in the seal where the inter lock is
before that the wachine was working but water was leaking water

Right. Did you copy the wires on the interlock as above in the pic.

Can you stop posting 2 threads it's getting confusing. Ill delete your other one

Now check the pcb on the top. There will be a blown track on there. It's under the first black block. It the netural wire from the door lock that's blown it.

Remove screws from the dispenser, then consol panel pulls off. Then remove 2 screws that hold the pcb in place.
