I have a Hotpoint dishwasher approx 5 years old, fills ok but the wash pump is not working, just hums and gets hot, checked impreller, all clear and motor turns freely, it seems to try and work if you keep pressing the on off switch, I am thinking Motor Start cap perhaps ?? I have noticed several people selling them on e bay ? this usally a clue its a common fault. Its built in so difficult to service, If its not the cap its going down the tip. Any advice, and white goods engineers out there still ??
