HotPoint keeps humming

My HotPoint dishwasher isnt starting. Everything was working fine until 2 days back, but now the engine just keeps humming when I start the wash cycle. I am wary of opening it.

Any ideas or quick fix?

Now, the water isnt draining when I do a trial run...with no dishes...

The cycle progresses through its various stages, letting in water, doing the humming sound when its supposed to rotate, but without draining water out.

Any idea this might be happening?

Could be a blockage in the wash pump, faulty capacitor or even a faulty wash motor.
The drainage problem, not sure, You need to try it on a drain program, if it doesn't drain you'll need to check the drain pump and hose for blockages/faults.

Thanks for your response... I checked the fan blades, maybe they were stuck. Freed them, now its working fine.
