My Hotpoint ultima tumble dryer model TDC 62 is operating, but there is no heat. Presumebly thr element has failed? is this repairable?

It's repairable but check the thermostats on top of the heater first.
Apologies if this is a dumb question, but how will i check if the thermostats are ok or not?
check with a multimeter set on ohms this reads through the thermostat to confirm there is a current path intact. The reading when you check each thermostat should read low ohms if it reads high or infinity the thermostat is open circuit.
