I have followed a few threads on here about this problem with other hotpoint washing machines. I have alllights flashing on the display when I switch the machine on. They stop eventually and I can start a cycle. Other people have said they have replaced the capacitor on the board (C17) .There is a capacitor on the board just above where you plug the board in to the right of the dial switch on the board. Has anyone replaced this to solve their problem?

I finally realised after reading another post that it was on the bottom board. I now have the board out of the machine and I will replace the capacitor tomorrow.And! Thanks Again.
