Hotpoint WDAL8640 buttons cause flashing LEDs

Hi there,

Bit of a strange one here - have a washer/dryer that won't seem to accept any programme, it just seems to go hot. There don't seem to be any error codes (as in the lights on the right don't flash when turning it on), but when pressing the "super wash", "time saver", "eco" or "slow spin" buttons their respective LEDs blink rapidly for a few seconds...

I've tried turning it off at the mains for more than an hour and exactly the same behaviour when turning back on. Anything else I can try?

does the washing machne spin at all?
It's strange that the washing machine will get hot before spinning.
